“My son was sitting on the couch waiting for me when he came back… He said he was told to go home. He said he was told to go home by my ex-boyfriend,” Xin said.
“I ran out the back. He was standing in the driveway and didn’t see me. He just had blood on him and he was on the ground looking at his leg.”
Xin’s cousin, Xi Yang, told CNN that while they had been together five months, “it wasn’t a happy time.”
Xin’s children told her about the shooting and what her ex-boyfriend had done, she said, but Xia said she doesn’t understand her family and that she still doesn’t like him.
Xuan’s father, Xi Lin, told CNN that he had sent his daughter to his house. When she returned in the morning to find her ex-boyfriend standing alone outside their home, she was hysterical, the father said. The father didn’t realize that his daughter was still there before realizing that his daughter had been shot dead.
The family has an ironclad security system. Xin said that when she returned, she heard a dog barking and heard the sound of an ambulance.
